In 2008, we talked about what we wanted to do when we grew old together—we were always drawn to things that smelled amazing. We spent so much time and energy exploring candles, beautiful fragrances, and of course, we always needed body sprays, lotions, and body wash. Creativity has always been a part of who we are, and spending time together while making things that smell good felt natural.

Our talks and shared passion led us to spend years learning everything we could about running a small business while honing our craft. Finally, we launched State 48 Handmade in September 2020, putting our heart and soul into every product. We learned to perfect one thing at a time, and we still use our own handmade soaps, candles, and lotions every day.

One of the biggest factors in bringing State 48 Handmade to life was finding the right person to visually represent our vision, and that person is Alex Monfra. His artistic creativity helped transform our ideas into reality. Alex Monfra, also known as CustoonLogos, is one of the most talented artists we’ve had the pleasure of working with.
